Field Trip {State Fair}

We headed to the State Fair Tuesday morning for our first preschool field trip of the year.  It was a little bit of a drive to get there.  All of our other field trips will be close to home.  I really wanted my students to experience the "Little Hands on the Farm" exhibit.  It was a lot of fun and definitely the best part of our trip, though the whole thing was great!
Start Barn
At the Start Barn, you begin your "visit" to the farm. Put on your apron, grab a basket, we have many products to "harvest".

Grain Bin
Our first stop is the real grain silo. Scoop up some feed for the animals.

Following the path to the next chore.

Feeding the corn to the cow.
Milking the cow.
Apple Orchard {in the background}
Pick an apple from the tree and put it in your basket. Head over to the Garden.

Planting the seeds.

Here you can "plant" a seed on one side and "dig" up a vegetable on the other. Make sure to keep that veggie in your basket.

Fueling up the tractor.

Preschool traffic jam.
Brushing the sheep, collecting the wool.

Chicken Coop
Here you must gather an egg. Make sure to put it in your basket.

Placing the crops & materials back into the correct bin at the end where each child was paid for their hard work.

Shopping at the store for a treat.
 After, we headed over the the Aussie Kingdom show to see some wildlife from down under.  The wallabies were a lot of fun and really soft.
